I love working with children, teenagers, adults, families, and individuals
About Me
I believe therapy is a journey; true transformation and healing often takes time and hard work. I am passionate about sitting with those that are suffering and walking alongside them to find hope, healing, freedom, and peace. I strive to provide a compassionate and caring space for your unique story to be heard safely.
In treatment, I often focus on utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to examine how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all related and can impact your functioning. I will work with you to identify negative core beliefs and work towards healing by replacing those beliefs with truth. Together, we will develop coping skills to better manage stressors in your life. Additionally, I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, play therapy (with minors), psychodynamic theory, and elements of Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR).
One of the things I enjoy the most about Through the Sea is being able to implement Biblical Counseling. I believe the Good News of the Gospel and the power of God's Word can transform lives. I use the truth of scripture to challenge and combat negative beliefs and the lies of the enemy. Jesus, as the suffering servant, is one of my favorite descriptions of Him because it reminds me that we are never alone, and Jesus is always with us in our deepest pains. It would be my privilege to bear your burdens and lift you up, too.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV

I love reading, Star Wars, coffee, running/exercise, being involved in church, and spending time with my family and two cats.
