About Me
Hello, and welcome — I’m so glad you’re here.
My name is Rene Cantu, and I work with clients who are seeking support, healing, and clarity in the midst of life’s challenges. Whether you’re facing anxiety, relationship issues, spiritual struggles, or simply feeling overwhelmed or stuck, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and care.
As a therapist, my first priority is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel truly seen and heard. I believe therapy works best when you don’t have to pretend or hold back — when you can be fully yourself and explore what’s really going on beneath the surface. You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin. You just need a willingness to take the next step, and I’d be honored to walk with you as you do.
My clinical approach is primarily client-centered, which means our work is guided by your needs, your pace, and your goals. I also draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches/interventions (ex. CBT, Narrative, Motivational Interviewing, Values Exploration) to best support your unique journey, and I offer gentle insight and perspective when it’s helpful. I believe in collaboration — therapy is something we do together, not something done to you.
As a Christian therapist, my faith informs the way I approach my work and how I care for others. I seek to love my neighbor as myself, and I see each client as a neighbor—someone deserving of dignity, compassion, and thoughtful support. For those who desire it, I integrate biblical counseling into the therapeutic process, drawing from Scripture, prayer, and spiritual reflection. Whether your faith is central to your life, something you’re questioning, or not something you want to explore in therapy, you are welcome here. No judgment — just a caring presence committed to your growth and healing.
If you’re feeling weary, burdened, or unsure of what’s next, know that there is hope. You don’t have to walk through it alone.
