Who I Work With

Adult individuals

About Me

My name is Benoit Kim, a mindfulness-based psychotherapist. I work with thoughtful, high-functioning individuals who feel emotionally stuck and disconnected from their authentic selves despite insight, effort, or external success. Many are navigating trauma, attachment patterns, cultural or identity-related stress, and relationship challenges, and want more than surface-level coping.

As a UPenn-educated former policymaker turned licensed psychotherapist, I, too, struggled with my identity, why perseverance does not always prevail, the void that accompanies an achievement mindset, and what it feels like to be disconnected from my authentic self due to ingrained social and cultural beliefs. Fortunately, I discovered

the power of mindfulness, healing, faith, and the equanimity that comes with reconnecting with my inner self. My mission is to bring a data-driven, evidence-informed, and personable approach to all help seekers, providing emotional relief by addressing root causes, because we all matter and deserve healing.

I believe that people desire real change. They are seeking emotional relief, self-understanding, and a deeper, more grounded connection with themselves and others. I’m especially mindful of how culture, language, and lived experience shape emotional safety and healing. We all want to journey back home to emotional safety.

I offer a trauma-responsive, mindfulness-based approach that blends CBT with self-compassion to help reduce anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm. With rigorous training in complex trauma, in intensive outpatient and inpatient settings, my work supports people navigating major life transitions, grief and loss, depression and

everyday struggle, emotional disconnection, identity concerns, and relationship misalignments in a steady, non-judgmental, and grounding brave space.

Throughout our process, I will be your co-pilot toward your healing, with you being in the driver's seat, using our action plan as our roadmap, because this is your life, and you are more capable and have more power than you may realize. I am here to help you self-actualize your dormant potential, overshadowed temporarily due to your limiting

circumstances, if you allow me to assist in your journey.

Off the Clock

I am a husband, a proud dad of 2 rescued cats, a deacon at my home

church, an Army veteran, and a ferocious reader with deep curiosity about human psychology, philosophy, and spirituality.
